City of San José Appeals Hearing Board, Current Board Chair, Commissioner, 2001-Present
The Appeals Hearing Board is a quasi-judicial board that hears code enforcement appeals of blighted conditions, illegal building activity, unsafe and unsanitary living conditions, abandoned, dismantled and inoperative vehicles, neglected vacant houses, weed abatement liens and garbage liens. The Board Chair runs public meetings and directs the actions of the board.

Valley Transportation Authority Citizens Advisory Committee, City of San José appointed representative 2000 - 2002
The VTA CAC advises the Board on issues of interest to the committee's members and the communities they represent and serves as the oversight body for the 2000 Measure A Transit Sales Tax Program.

City of San José SNI Winchester NAC, Lynhaven Neighborhood Representative, 2000-present
The Strong Neighborhoods Initiative Neighborhood Advisory Committees for each area organize to map out the assets and strengths of each area. This NAC brings together neighborhoods, business, schools, faith community, and service providers in a single forum.

City of San José SNI PAC, Elected Business Representative, 2000-2002
A 50-member PAC is composed of residential owner-occupants, residential tenants, business owners, and members of community organizations within the Strong Neighborhoods Initiative areas with the primary responsibility to advise the City Council on matters relating to Redevelopment.
